Awni

Awni Mohammad ”Vitto” I am a Palestinian visual artist and a professional documentary photographer currently based in Sweden. I was born in Syria, in the Jaramana Palestinian refugee camp, a place that shaped my early perspective on resilience and human stories.

My passion goes far beyond traditional wedding photography. I don’t just take staged pictures; I chase real, unscripted emotions and capture those fleeting, candid moments that define the true essence of your day. My goal is to freeze the spontaneous laughter, the quiet glances, and the raw beauty of human connection.

My journey with photography began in Syria, where I studied the classic art of black-and-white photography and mastered manual darkroom developing techniques. Over the years, I have worked as a photojournalist for numerous prominent local and international magazines and newspapers. During the war in Syria, I covered critical events as a photographer for the renowned German news magazine, Der Spiegel. In 2010, my dedication to visual storytelling was recognized with a prestigious award in photojournalism.

Today, I continue my passion for capturing authentic stories and raw human emotions in Sweden. I am proud to be a member of KRO (Konstnärernas Riksorganisation), Fearless Photographers, and the Spanish wedding photography community, Fotógrafos de Boda. Through my lens, I turn your spontaneous moments into timeless visual art.
